WINNER: Innovative Wine Tourism Experience
Banrock Station has won the Most Innovative Wine Tourism Award from South Australian Government
Banrock Station is one of seven South Australian businesses to win in the Best of Wine Tourism awards which are part of Adelaide’s membership to the Great Wine Capitals Global Network. The prestigious network includes Bilbao / Rioja (Spain), Bordeaux (France), Cape Town (South Africa), Mainz-Rheinhessen (Germany), Mendoza (Argentina), Porto (Portugal), San Francisco / Napa Valley (USA), Valparaìso / Casablanca Valley (Chile) and Adelaide, South Australia was unanimously voted into the network in July.
Banrock Station has won the “Innovative Wine Tourism Experience” award for the experience it offers visitors to learn and participate through the combination of wetlands, vineyards, wildlife, walks and wine. Banrock Station has created a tourist destination for the Riverland region and educates 90,000 visitors annually through its fantastic experience. Further to this, they are internationally recognised for contributing to 13 countries across 160 projects through $6M in funding from Banrock Station wines. The awards recognise leadership, innovation and excellence in wine tourism and Banrock Station was delighted to receive this award.
Each South Australian award recipient goes on to represent the state in the international awards program, with a final winner from each great wine capital city being announced in Porto, Portugal in November.
