Wetland Manager - Kate Thorn

Kate Thorn spent her childhood on the River Murray, growing up with a passion for the Australian landscape that directed her to Environmental Management studies. She has worked on South Australia’s west coast and in Tasmania, on projects as diverse as coastal and catchment rehabilitation, bushfire ecology and recovery and feral animal control to protect small native mammals.

Kate joined the Banrock Station team in 2008 and has responsibility for the property’s ecological management including threatened species recovery, Ramsar wetland management, revegetation and wetland management, environmental education and interpretation and liaison with community and Government.
